Sockapalooza-sokkene ferdige

These socks are called Russian socks, because they were traditionally knit in the north of Norway, and traded with the russians for other goods. You knit them just like you would knit a mitten, only without a thumb. About half way there you knit inn a loose piece of yarn over half the stitches. When you are done you pull out the yarn, and pick up the now free stitches. Then all you need to do is knit in the round and decrease like you did for the toe, and you have a heel.
Wow! Those are incredible socks. Your sock pal is going to be thrilled! Awesome job, Helene.
Nydelige! Fy flate, som du produserer! :-)

Wonderful socks - I enjoy seeing how you knit the heel, very clever!
OK, I loved the Russian socks so much I emailed Debbie at Nordic Fiberarts. She's sending me the pattern in Norwegian (I get to translate it myself!) and some strikkegarn. Thank you!!

Kongesokker!

Beautiful socks! In fact it was your socks that inspired me to hunt for the pattern and attempt these. I have the pattern and an English translation- but I am stuck! I have knitted in the round on double pointed needles to the point in the pattern where it states that I should put 33 stutches onto waste yarn. I have never done that, but should be able to figure out how. However, I do not know gow to 'continue in the pattern to the toe shaping' for both the front and the back since I have removed 33 stitches. Am I supposed to be adding (castin-on) 33 stitches and continue in these new stitches as the sole of the sock? Right now I have 33 stitches on 2 double point needles- please help! Thank you for any help that you can offer, Cassandra
I LOVE SOCKS!
kempe fina socker! Skulle du kunne skicka mönstret till mig?
