Bring on the lice

The deadline for the sockapal2za is quickly approaching, and I bet Alison is totally panicking since she hasn't heard from me on this subject yet. But why finish things early when you can procrastinate... Since the send off date is Thursday I'll better get started now. My pal asked for pink socks, and I certainly don't have any pink in my stash (god forbid!). It was also difficult to find pink sock yarn in the shops. Only one choice left - Super Lice to the rescue:

Lus

Isn't she cute? This was the largest in my collection of Dactylopius Coccus . Pregnant she lice from the Canari Islands. They stink like hell, but they give the most amazing shades of purple - red - pink.

Lusegarn

Oops... may be I overdid it on the lice... could we please call this dark pink?? I find the colour lovely, so we'll go for this, is that ok pal?

I wanted to make a traditional Norwegian pattern this time too, like I did for the last round. This is what it looks like so far:

Palsokker
